West Virginia University Health System to acquire Fulton County Medical Center making $17 million / 7 year investment

The West Virginia University Health System has signed an affiliation agreement to acquire Fulton County Medical Center, a 21-bed critical access hospital in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, with plans to invest up to $17 million over seven years. FCMC operates an emergency department, cardiology, rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging, home health, and nursing home services across five rural Pennsylvania counties and is the only hospital and skilled nursing facility in Fulton County. The investment will include installation of EPIC electronic medical records and revenue cycle management systems. The transaction is expected to close on or about Jan. 1, 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
