CARR Biosystems acquires Alfa Wassermann

CARR Biosystems has acquired Alfa Wassermann from Turytes S.p.A., with the transaction closing Aug. 10. Alfa Wassermann designs, manufactures and services continuous flow ultracentrifugation and automated fluid handling systems used to separate, purify and concentrate viruses, viral vectors and other particles in vaccine, gene therapy and biologics manufacturing. The company's systems are used in the majority of global influenza vaccine production. CARR said the acquisition expands its separation and purification solutions across vaccine and cell and gene therapy applications.
