Amsurg acquires Capital Surgery Center in Louisiana

Amsurg has acquired Capital Surgery Center, a Louisiana-based ambulatory surgery center, the company's second acquisition under parent company Ascension. Capital Surgery Center, an 8,250-square-foot facility featuring two operating rooms, specializes in outpatient orthopedic care and interventional pain management. It is owned by Barrett Johnston, MD, and John Crosby, MD, and the surgery center offers procedures such as joint arthroscopy, nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal marks continued expansion of Amsurg's national footprint.
